Every morning after breakfast, campers return to their cabin and begin to clean up for inspection. The cabin that is the cleanest wins inspection for the day. The cabin that wins the most during a session wins the HONOR CABIN award. Today the campers in cabin 6 got creative(see photo) and left a great surprise for the inspector, who was VERY IMPRESSED.(Bonus Points)
We were supposed to have rain most of the day but as the rain approached Lookout Mountain it dissipated almost completely. We did have the occasional light rain but we PLAYED ON! It’s hard to believe that our Junior Campers only have one more day with us. They have been a great group of campers! The game of the day at Sports was the greatest original camp game ever created—ZOOKERBALL. It is similar to kickball with all sorts of crazy rules. Be sure and ask your camper about it! At the Ropes Course they started the ZIPLINE. Campers climb to a platform about 30 feet in the air and are clipped into a pulley. Then they jump from the platform and glide along a wire suspended above the ground. It’s quite a ride! Tonight we had Yarbrough’s Educational Reptile Show. Becky Tucker brings reptiles from all over the world to show the kids. Becky’s father started the reptile show and came to Camp Laney beginning in the 1980s. Our CITs hiked down to the river and had S’mores, some good fellowship, and continued their discussion about what it means to be a leader at Camp Laney.
