Summer Camp Staff
Best summer job ever — work at Camp Laney this summer.
Staff is the most important aspect of any camp. We seek young men of outstanding character who are mature, get along well with boys, and have the ability to teach a skill. Most applicants have completed one year of college.
As a camp counselor, you will live with a cabin of boys and work at one of camp’s nine activity areas. You will serve as a role model for our campers.
We spend much of the year visiting college campuses, checking references, and conducting personal interviews with each prospective staff member. If you are interested in being considered for the Camp Laney staff, please read through this section carefully.
Words alone cannot explain the great impact Camp Laney continues to have on my life. If I had any advice for those interested in attending or working at Laney it would be to not let this opportunity pass you by!
The job of a camp counselor is a serious task and a job for responsible people only. Most parents send their son to summer camp because they know the positive influence it can have on his life. Camp counselors should consider their job as a chance to serve youth as well as an opportunity for personal development.
Being responsible for the lives and character molding of young boys is not something to be taken lightly. By devoting oneself to serving others and supporting Camp Laney’s vision, you will gain one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
