Opening Day 2019!

We had a wonderful day to start the 1st session of 2019! At 12:15 we rang the bell and all gathered at the flagpole as we do before every meal. Logan welcomed everyone and made a few announcements and then we went inside the lodge and had lunch. After lunch the campers went back to their cabins and played the name game with their counselors and went over some basic camp wide rules. At 2:00 everyone met in the gym to be placed in their activity groups. We had a short rain shower in the middle of the afternoon that was much needed after almost 2 weeks without any rain at all. All the campers went to their four afternoon activities and took a break during “store time” for a snack. This evening after supper all eight activity groups played different games all over camp. As the sun went down, we gathered by the campfire and Whitney taught all the new campers the words to the original Camp Laney song. We also were entertained by counselor Drew White playing a few songs for us. After the campfire the campers went back to the cabins for showers and to “hopefully” get some rest for a full day of activities tomorrow!

REMINDERS

If you purchase CAMPSTAMPS through your CampInTouch account and plan on emailing your child remember that all emails are printed out at 8:30am. Any emails sent after 8:30 will be sent the following day.

We will start taking many more pictures on the first full day of camp. If you have not seen a photo of your child in a day or two please let Whitney know and we will make sure to get a few pictures taken. He can be reached at whitney@camplaney.com.
