It's about the friendships!

The overwhelming majority of our photos are not of the grounds, not the facilities, not all the cool things Laney has to offer. It’s people together. It’s friends. Current friends at camp or lifelong friends who met at camp and are reconnecting after many years. Below is a great picture of Director Rob Hammond and Henry “Hero” Seawell as junior counselors on the last day of camp in August of 1967, and just a couple of weeks ago. We have said it before and will continue to say it…camp is mostly about the friendships. It’s ALWAYS been mostly about the friendships!!

Whitney has been on staff full-time since 1994. He started coming to camp in 1977 and has never missed a summer. He and his wife Rita live in Mentone, Alabama year round.
